Contestant Jermaine Wright presented Gordon Ramsay and guest judge Tony Messina with a paella-inspired skirt steak taco. When Ramsay asked Jermaine what he had cooked the rice in, Jermaine confidently replied, “a pot.” The unexpectedly literal answer caught everyone off guard, with fellow contestant Johnathan Benvenuti face-palming and Ramsay briefly appearing to hold back his laughter. Ramsay was actually asking what liquid Jermaine had used to cook the rice, and Jermaine quickly clarified that he had cooked it in veal stock. Despite the hilarious misunderstanding, Jermaine’s dish still earned the point over Donya’s and helped create one of Season 22’s most memorable lighthearted moments.
