@tradex_labs: Want view some orb builds? Visit the link in bio! You can take something as simple as an ORB and completely transform it by combining it with the right research, regime filters, and validation process. The ORB signal can stay simple: define the range, wait for the breakout, execute the signal. The “supercharging” it comes from figuring out when that breakout is most likely to work. That can mean testing features like ATR, relative volume, normalized range size, VWAP context, 0DTE ATM implied volatility, volatility term structure, put skew, and changes in IV. Some of these ideas come directly from academic research, and others can be derived by combining concepts across multiple papers. I would not keep stacking filters…The more degrees of freedom you add, the easier it becomes to fit noise. Test small combinations of features, compare different ORB variations, and see which relationships remain stable across different samples and regimes. Use IS/OOS testing, WFA, MC analysis, SPP, and account for data-mining bias with things like deflated sharpe. You can then construct a portfolio of ORB variations designed for different environments, give weight to signals in their “preferred” environment blah blah you get the point… #automatedtrading #futures #orb
