@robotics: This LinkerBot demo shows a pair of dexterous robotic hands handling an avocado with the kind of control normally associated with human fingers. The real breakthrough isn’t the avocado. It’s the precision required to grip, stabilise and manipulate delicate objects without crushing or dropping them. As robotic hands improve, humanoids could move beyond simple lifting and start taking on far more detailed tasks in kitchens, factories, labs and eventually everyday environments.
