@techniahqrobot: A humanoid robot in sneakers is pulling off some serious footwork. Watch how it moves. Deep squats, wide lunges, fast kicks and quick changes of direction. It drops close to the floor, extends one leg, then stands back up and continues dancing without a visible fall. I kept watching the moments between the moves. A kick looks impressive, but controlling the landing takes precise timing. The robot has to slow its moving leg, shift its weight over the supporting foot and prepare for the next movement. Its ankles, knees, hips and torso all have to work together. The low positions are demanding too. During a wide squat, the robot must keep its center of mass within its area of support. As it rises, that balance changes again. Watch how its arms move while its legs switch positions. There are still some things this video cannot tell us. We don't know whether the routine is preprogrammed, remotely controlled or generated by an autonomous policy. The floor is flat, the space is open and nobody interrupts the performance. But the repeated transitions show some impressive whole-body coordination. One poorly timed landing could bring the routine to an early end. I'd be curious to see how this robot handles the same movements after a small push or on a surface with less grip. Could it keep dancing? #HumanoidRobots #Robotics #PhysicalAI #RobotControl
