Chief Rabbi of Israel Rabbi Yitzchok HaLevi Herzog stands with an UNRRA official; boys hold Torah scrolls rescued from Poland. About 500 Jewish orphans arrived that Sunday on UNRRA Transport 750 after a Shabbos stop in Ostrava. Mrs. Sternbuch had boarded in Łódź with yeshivah boys and rescued Torah scrolls; she pressed for the Shabbos stop and later supervised Agudah children at the Ďáblice transit camp before the group continued toward France.
