@jenncherry9: Pooh: “Eeyore, why did you choose this quiet place?” Eeyore: “Because the trees don’t ask questions.” Pooh: “That sounds useful.” Eeyore: “They let me sit here without explaining why I’m tired.” Pooh: “Then perhaps I’ll sit here too.” Eeyore: “You don’t have to.” Pooh: “I know.” Eeyore: “Then why stay?” Pooh: “Because sometimes being beside someone is more important than knowing what to say.” Eeyore looked through the trees toward the soft light beyond them. Eeyore: “Do you ever need somewhere quiet?” Pooh: “Yes.” Eeyore: “What do you do when you find it?” Pooh: “I stop trying to solve everything.” Eeyore: “That sounds difficult.” Pooh: “It is. But I’m learning.” For a while, they simply listened to the forest. No explanations. No advice. No pretending. Just two friends sitting beneath the old trees while the world continued moving somewhere beyond them. Perhaps peace doesn’t always mean having a quiet mind. Sometimes it means finding a place where your mind can be noisy without anyone asking you to silence it. A place where you can breathe without performing. A friend who doesn’t need you to be cheerful before they choose to stay. And maybe that is a kind of home too—not a place with walls, but a person beside whom you can finally stop pretending you are carrying everything easily.
