She is not a statistic. She is a daughter, a sister, a leader and she deserves to be safe. Aa, Afrika Tshipembe, nne nga dzina ndi pfi Renee Musidzana, wa ha Nenzhelele. I am a 24-year-old Masters student in Applied Data Science at the University of Johannesburg and I speak for every woman who walks our streets with fear instead of freedom. Gender-based violence is not a women’s issue, it is a national crisis. Over 45,000 rapes, 60,000 assaults, and nearly 4,000 women murdered in a single year. One in three women has experienced physical violence in her lifetime. Behind every number is a name Uyinene, Baby Lee, Jesse, Janika, daughters who deserved to be safe, and weren’t. On 21 November 2025, more than a million South Africans said enough. The G20 Women’s Shutdown brought this country to a standstill and forced the world to listen. I stood with them, and I stand with them still. I envision a South Africa where a woman’s greatest fear is not her neighbour, her partner, or a stranger at a post office but missing her own graduation. Where girls grow up believing the world is theirs, not something to survive. Where justice is not a privilege, and silence is never the safest option. Through Miss South Africa, I will advocate for that country- loudly, intentionally, and without apology. Because you cannot build a nation on the graves and the fear of its women. But when she is safe , she educates, she heals, she leads, she rises. And when she rises, so does every single one of us. #MissSA2026#ANewEra#EYA#Leadership@Official Crown Chasers 👑 @Miss South Africa @Qhawe Mazaleni • Miss SA @Crown Chasers
