to answer your question in a long version Normal serum potassium: 3.5–5.0 mEq/L (or mmol/L) To replace low potassium (hypokalemia): give potassium replacement, commonly oral potassium chloride (KCl) for mild/moderate cases. IV potassium chloride may be used for severe hypokalemia or when oral replacement isn't appropriate, but it must be diluted and given carefully—never IV push. In small version Normal potassium is 3.5–5.0 mmol/L. If it’s low, we replace it with potassium, usually oral KCl, or IV KCl in severe cases with proper monitoring.” 😎

If potassium is so important for maintaining a normal heartbeat, why can both low potassium and high potassium cause dangerous arrhythmias? What exactly happens to the cardiac action potential in each case? Pls answer
