my mother in law was bit by her cat when she first met him at the shelter. she took him home and he never bit anyone again. they’re just scared little babies 🥺

Humane society said my cat was exactly like this. Never bit or hissed at anyone and I’ve had him for 7 years now

(graphic warning) i volunteered at yolo country animal shelter and watched an employee walking a dog back to the kennels when someone else came around a corner scaring the dog and it lunged at the person she pulled the dog back but in an act of being pulled back the woman holding the dog fell backwards and the dog immediately bit into the woman's neck and she started bleeding and you could see into her neck me and another person grabbed the dog and the on sight doctor came running to wrap her neck up , she was thrown into the back of my car and they took off to the er , and the woman survived and developed a fear of dog and quit the shelter but 2 weeks after the attack she heard the dog was going to be put down and she drove all the way down to the shelter asking to see the dog , I remember walking her down the shelter she was shaking uncontrollably and when we got to the dogs cage she got down on her knees crying . that day she left with the dog and promised to take care of the dog and hopefully they could heal together.

The humane society said my boy was aggressive and bit people I’ve never seen a mean bone in his body. I 100% believe it’s the environment and love they receive. 🖤

She was set to be euthanized bc she wasn’t friendly nor got along with other dogs. Here she is two years after her deadline. She also has pup siblings and loves them!

The place we rescued my dog said to not take her around kids she will bite them. We now have two kids and she loves them so much. Also loves all kids, just loves to be loved.

1 year and 6 mn old sounds like they could still be bitty while playing so I don’t believe it.

Girls Gone Rogue gave me a reactive Chihuahua bite risk and never said anything. He’s fine now sort of but I do feel lied to and when i think about how hard its been I want to make a stink about it.

shelter marked my dog as not kid friendly and that was the biggest lie of all time. I cant even yell at my kids without her getting in my space to get me away from the kids.

they need better conditions in these shelters, maybe the dogs are so "aggressive" because they have been laying down on hard concrete for months and it's super uncomfortable

I think people forget that it’s not always the dog sometimes there’s kids to bite dogs and scratch an pull ears an hit them etc there’s also people who hurt animals too so it may not be this dog it may have been that specific kid or that specific person or just the fear of not knowing where they are

My cat was returned to the shelter 3 times on bite watch as a KITTEN, not even a year old. He’s just a little weirdo who wants to love on you until he’s overstimulated and then he grabs your hand with his teeth. Never once has he done it hard enough to leave a mark or draw blood.
