I don’t really like my calc prof, and I feel like I’m not learning much during my lectures. Do you think it’s a good idea to skip lectures and use that time to study the material on my own instead? I am in my first year and I didn’t take calculus in high school

My teacher failed my math exam not because I didn’t know what I was doing but because of my lack of professionalism on some of the problems. Theres one problem I got 100% right but he didn’t see that I put the answer in parentheses and didn’t even give me points on it because it lacked professionalism.

As a engineering student passing the semester is all that matters because it’s hard asf and depending on the school your pursued it, jobs will look at it just see the experience you’ve had

I’m getting killed in my 2nd year Eng mechanics class the prof feels useless in lectures but I feel guilty not going to them do u think I should just skip it altogether and try and learn from the textbook and YouTube or keep going and trying to understand his lectures

Thanks for ur advice, I appreciate it and I feel very relieved to see someone struggle because I thought struggling was something to be ashamed of.. but now I feel better and I have hopes of becoming better !! Thanks man
