I agree with you. Of course, we could also eliminate the death penalty.

There is no ethical way to carry out the death penalty. A ethical government should not have the power to sentence its people to death

The most frustrating fact about the US legal process is that executions cost more than life in prison. Executions should be magnitudes cheaper due to swifter legal processes. But our courts draw it out so long that it costs more.

I’ve never understood why the firing squad isn’t used for every execution.

It’s funny how Maga supports the death penalty, but don’t support abortion

Let the person choose. That would be most ethical.

Always found it ironic they will swab the injection spot with an alcohol swab before giving the shot

How about capital punishment is just unethical. Showing that you can't standardize this practice and make it "humane" should be enough evidence to stop this barbaric practice.

The most ethical method is not doing it at all. The state has no right to play God and decide who is damned or not

Also lethal injection drugs don’t prevent pain they just make it look like the person isn’t feeling pain

One could also, like any decent Christian or Catholic, simply oppose the death penalty as long as life imprisonment is physically possible (and it practically always is, apart from countries where the prison system literally does not function and cannot function – a situation that rarely occurs to such an extreme) Whilst the discussion is interesting enough, I honestly have no desire to get involved in debating which barbaric act is better than which. But all in all, it makes sense that a firing squad is the best option.

Not to mention that pharmaceutical companies object to their products being used in these cases. Bullet manufactures do not have such issues.

I saw a video on this a long time ago abt how ethical and humane in executions is often how digestible it is for ppl viewing it and not how much the executed don’t suffer.

as a paramedic who has worked in and out of hospitals, I promise you unless the doctor is an anesthesiologist, you do not want them starting the IV. Most other doctors haven't started an IV since medical school, they simply dont have to, that is what nurses and techs are for

In regards to lethal injection, I'm really confused why we don't use the same methods as countries/places that have medically assisted 💀, which are always focused on the comfort of the person. I don't think the death penalty should exist but since that isn't likely to happen in the US, at least they could make the systems better

I wonder where the guillotine would rank. I remember my history teacher sharing scenarios where the blade was not as sharp so it failed but still did significant damage.

At this day and age, you can’t make a robot arm that can fire a bullet with 100% accuracy? I feel like this could be easily solved.
