The general public paints her as the loser who can’t get over her ex, while meanwhile he not only moved on but “upgraded” with a younger and prettier woman. The reality is, both men and women can be petty and bitter after the end of a long relationship. In fact, research shows that’s it usually men who have the worst long term outcomes post breakup, including health issues and even early death.

Yes, she has had several breakups where there is no beef. That is completely normal. But clearly there was some growing resentment there that she has cleared out, but she is a songwriter and uses her songs to process her emotions. So also denying that there wasn’t trouble in paradise is a bit of a problem. I don’t feel too bad for the guy, he clearly took up and wasted a lot of her time, which she has called out in songs. All the signs from patient 0 point to it being about him. Not saying he’s a horrible guy, but there’s a common denominator when everything is added up and he never looked acted or showed any anxiety that she would leave, whereas she was constantly begging him in songs not to. People change when they find their person, and they just weren’t each other’s person. But he also used her name to get to where he is so I wouldn’t discredit that either
