Just me 🎁 :
I have listened to Soludo. He asked whether buying land, or receiving it as a gift, can change a boundary. The answer is no, not by itself, and that answer favours us.
If an Aguleri man buys a plot at Otuocha, he buys whatever interest the seller had in that plot. He does not buy our town. A deed is not a new boundary. Governor’s consent does not move a community line. A signpost and a camera do not move it either. The Deputy Governor has already said no community and no local-government chairman can fix this boundary alone. So the attempt to plant a sign in our market area was not demarcation. It was provocation, and people died for it.
Our case is not that money automatically shifts the map. Our case is older than that paper. Umuoba Anam has lived, farmed and traded on that land. The documents they now want to wave, assignment, purchase, donation, ceding, must show who signed, what they owned, and who consented. If the seller had no title, the buyer took nothing. Family land and community land are not sold by one man in a hotel.
Let the team he promised sit with both sides. Bring the survey. Bring the history. Bring the deeds. Do not come with a signpost and call it a boundary. Otuocha is not Aguleri’s to rename by purchase. Peace is welcome. Peace that quietly hands our land over is not.
