Imagine if you had wealthy families in charge of which version of the bible got released to the public, They could embed whatever they want, So then they could Vilify the very concept of using something that they use. Something that inherently from what can be seen it exists, And it exists with duality (good/ evil) They are choosing the more manipulative darker , practically blood magic. But if they convince you that magic period is pure evil , then nobody would ever think to dive into the one thing that might help them.
