@hannagetshired: At first, we wanted to elope. I could NOT get convinced that all the time, money, and logistics required to plan such a complex event was worth it for one damn day, nevermind it happened during the 2 of the busiest years we’ve ever had. We decided we would, but if you had asked me even 2 months ago if all that work would be worth it, I honestlyyyy might have said no. But as I’m sure most brides can attest, there’s something so uniquely magical about presenting vows to the person you love, surrounded by all of your closest people who shaped who the two of you grew up to be. It’s this rare, incredibly vulnerable moment to put into words what love and a relationship means to you, and give your closest people a window into that world. I can hardly articulate it, I couldn’t have predicted it, but my god did it make all the wedding planning effort so worth it. So sure, it’s a lot of effort for just one day. But there are so many tiny, magical moments throughout that day But without that shaped how we’ll show up for each other, and all our people for a lifetime to come. (Also tearing it up on our perfect dance floor for like 4 hours straight is cathartic in a way I can’t emphasize enough. I WANNA DO IT ALL AGAIN!!!!)
