“I think the dark/bluish area around your new piercing is probably from some bruising or swelling. When a piercing is done, small blood vessels can get injured, which can cause the skin to change color. Especially with a fresh piercing, it can look pretty intense at first. I would keep an eye on it, though, and if it gets increasingly red, hot, painful, or starts producing pus, it would be a good idea to have it checked by a doctor or a professional piercer.”
