when I was a teen in 2010 went with my friends drinking up there at 2am it was super dark no lights. my friend saw a bonfire from the distance behind those gates, she accidentally stepped on her corona bottle, and there was people with red hoods in a circle. they heard us and looked we got so scared we dipped outta there.

It was a house. It burned down in the 1989 fire. That’s it. Urban legends has forced the owner to put up a fence. There used to be a pool back there that skaters would use. There was never an asylum in the canyon or in the hills. The true stories are far more fascinating.

My brother works for Edison and they have to get access to hella secluded areas all over SoCal, he says he’s seen some creepy shyt in the hills, woods, etc.

Once time I was driving home from my dads house who lives in Whittier so I took this road (I live in the heights) it was dark and windy that night. I admit I was going a bit fast since it was empty and the road gave me the creeps! Out of no where a woman in running clothes ran out the bushes and crossed the road. I slammed on my breaks and saw nothing after that. Not sure if the lady was real or was a ghost but I was scared lol

Was born and raised there. Been to that spot a million times growing up. Night and day. Nothing goes on there other than partying. But if you want to see some really cool views, hike up to the Nike Base.
