@ckay.lensview: Did you know this little river town was once home to nearly 2,000 people? Nestled between the Allegheny River and steep hillsides, Foxburg grew rapidly during Pennsylvania’s oil boom in the 1870s. The town became an important railroad outlet, connecting the booming oil region to the Allegheny Valley and Pittsburgh & Western rail lines. When the oil boom faded, Foxburg managed to keep growing thanks to its important railroad connections. The Fox family also played a major role in the town’s development, helping fund civic improvements including the Foxburg Library, Foxburg Country Club and the former Foxburg Inn. Eventually, the decline of the railroad industry brought an economic downturn—but Foxburg didn’t disappear. Today, this small Pennsylvania town is once again welcoming visitors with its rich history, Allegheny River views, trails, golf, outdoor adventures and cultural events. A pretty fascinating history for such a small town. #FoxburgPA #PennsylvaniaHistory #WesternPA #ExplorePA #PennsylvaniaTravel

I used to drive 5 ton through there about once a week. Once you start up the hill on the other side of the river there is a road sign installed too close to the road that Iverhangs the lane. if someone is coming down the bill when you pass it and you can't move over it scrapes the side of the box.
