Mine just did the exact same thing would throw the codes, sit for a bit then go back to normal like nothing ever happened it eventually got worse, ended up just finding a PWW code trans from a 2014 s4 and never had to worry again was easier then swapping out the sensor or taking chances if it was a mech unit

Check the magnets on the pan if the magnets get full then that material goes through the fluid and it can block the sensors in the trans and it can’t tell what gear it’s in my car had the same issue
