@itsbakewithkey: Day 3 of my informal market research! This one is about how we perceive pricing. Why do you think someone might pay $4 or $5 for one cookie or dessert from a well known chain, but hesitate at that same price, or even a lower price, from a small or home based business? Is it convenience? Branding? Familiarity? Trust? Presentation? Consistency? Perceived professionalism? Or do you think people sometimes expect small businesses to be cheaper? There’s no right or wrong answer. I’m interested in hearing what actually influences that decision for you.
I think people value consistency and that’s what larger retail stores can provide, which is valuable meaning people will pay more and I think people are hesitant or skeptical of products that don’t have a big box label not recognizing in the same moment that every big company started from someone who gets much smaller first
