My mom had HELLP syndrome with me. I feel so bad for her. :(

Pregnancy is body horror. One of the main reasons I’m childfree.

This is the main reason I’m childfree. I have a very low pain tolerance and high health anxiety. I’d probably enjoy motherhood (under ideal conditions), but I simply don’t wanna go thru the process of being pregnant and giving birth. 🤷🏽♀️

Pregnancy was 9 months of abject misery for me too, vomiting, joint pain, depression, and sick with a sinus infection for months.

pregnancy is a life threatening condition and I don't think that's discussed enough...IMO it's glossed over because of the patriarchy

im not a regretful parent but I absolutely hated pregnancy and I am 100% honest that it was terrible. if anyone asks I will tell them exactly why I hated it... I dont care if yours was amazing and will shut down anyone who says "it couldn't be that bad" YES YES it was that bad. I had a beautiful baby and dont regret having either kids, but I was also stupid enough to do it again thinking it won't be as bad.. nope, wrong, it was terrible. both my husband and I got surgery to never have that happen again..

I’m autistic. Periods are already rough for me the first 48 hours. Pregnancy sounds like the 20th circle of sensory hell.

i'm not a regretful parent, either- but I DEFINITELY hated being pregnant! Feeling that way was VERY normalized in my family, though. My mom and my grandmother felt the same way, which is probably why I'm the only child of an only child, who has only one child. i'm willing to bet my daughter will only have one, herself.

It is SO IMPORTANT to talk about these things amongst us women. Pregnancy is not all rainbows and sunshine, every body and every experience is different. THANK YOU for putting these testimonies out there and making room for real conversations and perspectives.

I hated being pregnant as well. I didn’t have a lot of complications but I hated not feeling like myself. My baby is 3 months old and it’s still hard! I don’t regret my baby but I regret my BD. He made everything terrible. I will only be having 1 child as being a single mother has made me depressed.

I hated being pregnant both times but I adore my two girls. I labored 30 hours for my first and was depressed for 18 months after my eldest. I had better tools the second time. It’s not talked about enough. My OB the second time was like no we aren’t doing this a second time. My body couldn’t produce breast milk and I was shamed by fellow women and it was devastating. Thankfully my second DR was having none of that. 💜

This the first time all my thoughts and feelings is say out loud and I feel so related to her I never felt like you you know your other videos are somehow related but this one felt so personal it’s exactly my my thoughts. I hated every ounce of the pregnancy. I’m scared to get pregnant again. I love my son but it’s so hard and I felt like no one felt this way.

I vomited and was nauseous through my ENTIRE pregnancy. Not enjoyable. I don't regret having my son but being pregnant is not a magical time for everyone

hi kelly do you ever talk about young adults who look back and know that their parents were not ready to be parents and how that affected their childhood? i’d love to message you about it.

I’m glad to hear another woman saying this. All I ever heard when I was pregnant was other women saying how they loved being pregnant, how they glowed, how special it made them feel and I couldn’t relate to that one bit. I couldn’t wait for it to be over. I also nearly lost mine and my daughter’s life during birth.

I had one child. The experience was uncomfortable for my back but so many woman have it worse. The recovery is what was hard for me. I didn’t recognize my body, and everything hurt. My baby girl was worth it but I knew then I wouldn’t do this again.

it is so interesting to hear these perspectives, i’m very grateful that this lovely woman took the time to write this out and i would like to offer my perspective as well. I am a 24 year old woman who has several chronic conditions that cause chronic pain (thankfully i can still function and my pain usually sits around 2-5 on the pain scale, depending on the day lol) as well as a myriad of other health issues. All that to say, the reason i find her perspective so interesting is the way she describes the pain of pregnancy is how i’d describe most of my life! she has context of what it means to exist without an invisible force controlling your life through pain and suffering, so of course pregnancy was terrible for her. for me however, the idea of a pregnancy being painful and exhausting really doesn’t deter me because that’s just my life hahaha. i want to be a mother one day, when im ready of course, and to me it would be 100% worth the struggle of pregnancy to bring life into the world. i guess my mindset is that i’m already struggling, so i may as well get something rewarding out of it. again, to the lovely lady who wrote this, thank you. i deeply appreciate this page and everyone who contributes to it, i believe it is so important for people to hear stories like these so they can process the information make informed decisions about their lives.

Pregnancy changes your body permanently. From hair, bone density, teeth, etc. your body will never be the same. It isn’t a walk in the park AT ALL. It will literally tear you up from the inside out. People need to be honest about it and not sugar coat it
