True story. On the way back cross countries with my old man. let me buy some sweets or something from the shop. Chose more than I should have, but he got them for me. Got to a point in the trip where the next stop required payment and he realised we were short. Got his jacket from the back of the car and walked to a few locals of the area at the corner shop and managed to sell it to them. (was a special jacket to him). We managed to get back home. I was just a kid, but that always sticks with me.
