Forest sounds nice. I live in the middle of the woods, and I expect criticis, , you know what Hangs around your house. you probably recognize the individual animals we do. We have named all ours Hawks the foxes skunks, deers, etc. cause we see them, so it's probably just somebody who is use to seeing you sorry, the cat's are scared.

We lived on a farm for 20yrs and never shut the doors in good weather and my husband was sitting on the toilet, started petting the "cat" sitting on the floor between the toilet and the wall, finally looked down and it was a opossum.

I got a dog this way many years ago. I had the door open while I was doing dishes and I heard noise in the living room. I walked in to a dog on my couch. Found his owner and she didn’t want him back. After a couple weeks I figured out why but he was with me for 10yrs anyway.

I get the door open with no screen. I lived 30 feet from the sea. My doors were always open. had house geckos for bugs. a few big crawls thing did get in. good luck. lol.
