She was exclusively nursed until RSV took her ability at age 3 months. Then I immediately became an exclusive pumper for her until she recovered and she relearned to nurse at 5 months. She continued to breastfed for almost two years. We fought hard for our journey. ❤️🩹

This terrifies me. I've seen so many posts about rav and babies recently. Plus I have older kids who when they get sick like to pretend they are not so they can get away with holding their 3 month old sister.

My baby got RSV at 4 months. I knew something was wrong with her and my family kept telling me I was being an over dramatic first time mom. Later that night she coughed so hard she projectile vomited and I immediately packed up and went to the ER. The doctor said I did a good job catching it early, she got a breathing treatment and oral antibiotics, we went home with an inhaler. I spent the next week staying up all night and day giving her Tylenol/motrin for fevers and the inhaler. My family had the audacity to tell me it’s “good for her immune system” to get sick. We were one of the lucky ones, im so sorry you’re going through this and I sincerely hope she’s ok 😭🫶🏻🫶🏻

Pumping isn’t good as direct feeding, when your baby is sick it needs to drink direct so it’s saliva can communicate with your breasts. Then your body will send everything that da baby needs trough the milk, so pumping it doesn’t have this most important step

My breastfed baby was also in the icu with RSV, my current breastfed baby has a solid cold and my formula kid was asked to test into the profoundly gifted program. I swear we just put this pressure on ourselves sometime 😢

I hated going through RSV with my youngest daughter😞 I was so desperate for her to keep breastfeeding that I stood next to her hospital bed holding her when it was feeding time trying to get her to nurse whenever I possibly could. The doctors kept pushing for a tube with formula but I refused because she was getting plenty through me and not losing weight but it was hard. All those wires and having to stand there for an hour holding her in my arms. They were worried about me too but I never gave up and neither did she. I thought she was going to die a few times. She’s 10 now though and thriving 🥰

My baby doesn’t have RSV but she stopped latching due to meningitis and now I can’t breastfeed her because she can’t pass down thin liquids , now she got an NG tube 💔

My 2 weeks old got sick with RSV from his sister, and I was told “keep on breastfeeding, he won’t get sick” yeah..we ended up in the hospital. But he recovered quickly

RSV nearly took my baby as well. We spent 12 days in the pediatric ICU. I wouldn’t wish that on an enemy! I’m so glad your baby recovered and was able to latch again!

Yes most people don’t know there sick till a few days later and spreading lucky to not get sick no more my nephew got me sick with the flu twice and I don’t get sick no more besides my bronchitis in the winter

Because that’s a lie. My 8-month old baby wasn't breastfed and has never been sick... my older son, who is 3, also has an excellent immune system. I wish your baby all the best ❤️
