It’s the hormones what’s affecting the mind blockage. There is absolutely nothing wrong with you. You will get through the process and feel a lot better once the medication is done.

It is a big change. The difference is, you and Alix are choosing the change on your own terms. Perhaps it’s disconnecting the old Zoya and reconnecting to upgraded Zoya.

So interesting! Seems like having too little or too much control over one’s body can both do the same (i.e bring about discomfort, disorientation, out of body confusion, etc.). It’s.. hard to zoom out and realize our self-to-body relationships are less about concrete checkpoints / body part placements / proportions.. and actually more about the acceptance of our long term, life long bodily changes, in every stage, every wave, and every role. Maybe the actual clarity is, just accepting that those changes won’t bring about much clarity [explanation]. Such a beautiful video and journey, thanks so much for sharing!

I was excited to have my baby and start my fertility treatment/ IUI with my husband. It was such a hard and intense process. I was going into it so disconnected with my body because I think I was angry that my body didn’t know how to do it on its own. The IUI process really was tough on me mentally and emotionally. No one prepared me for that. Just focused on the end goal. I wish I knew more than I did. Now having my baby I am so happy and blessed we were able to successfully conceive with IUI! Best of luck to you both 💖

I always said I would never ever get pregnant. It honestly terrifies me to my core, I've never felt womanly or like that was something I could see myself doing. My girlfriend unfortunately has multiple chronic illnesses that mean she cannot carry, so I've been trying to wrap my head around the fact that I will be carrying if we choose to go down that route. It still horrifies me, but we've got at least 5 years before we start thinking about it for real

Thank you for speaking on this. I loved being pregnant with all of my boys however I just got pregnant by accident while on chemotherapy and with an incurable cancer. My body does not feel the same or even my own. It’s such a different experience and he’s so odd… I am sending you both so much love and comfort

As a straight girly - I hated being pregnant. My babies are my life and the air I breathe BUT pregnancy is not glamorous (regardless of what the internet wants us to think) those girls that love pregnancy are few and rare

I felt similarly, it was super weird. After a couple years of trying with my wife we ended up swapping and I carried instead. Overall, weird. But I withdrew from corporate performance and just cared for myself and my pregnancy, minding my own business on a beach in Mexico. Best kiddo ever. Every journey is different, thank you for sharing during this vulnerable time! The visibility matters.

You are in a very intentional time of your life. It makes sense that these specific changes in your body are making you feel this way. Very valid. 💜💜

I was a tom boy growing up and still am. I am straight. But I had the problem where I didn’t feel connected to or like my girly parts. I still have a hard time with it a bit and being pregnant and going through bodily changes actually made me appreciate my body more. Although after during post partum it’s been hard to connect again because of how much my body and overall health changed

Do you feel any closer to a breakthrough as far as the mental block goes? I don't forsee myself having children so I've never thought of how complex that can be mentally to have a shift in desire and expectation that requires this level of action. I'm sure it helps to have someone so loving and reassuring as well.

I know you say it’s not the effect of the meds, but I always feel like my outlook on whatever is going on changes based on hormones (it’s like having different lenses put on you without you knowing). Same with being in touch inwardly. It’s all related!

Im not a doctor but I guess it’s the hormones? I don’t know exactly what’s needed for IVF and it might not even be similar but whenever I’m on my period I just feel so uncomfortable, it’s very hard to describe. I love my body the way it is, but when I feel that type of discomfort I feel very disconnected from it while also being very overwhelmed by it and everything it goes through, and since I’m going through stuff regarding my mental health it feels 10x worse and agh no it’s very uncomfortable. It’s funny though because my biggest dream is to do reciprocal IVF when I’m older and being the one that carries the baby so I guess that’s going to be a fun process lol 😭
