@hurricane.ready: Tropical Storm Isaias is quickly strengthening in the southwest Gulf, and the National Hurricane Center forecasts it to become a hurricane by Thursday morning, peaking near 110 mph (Category 2) Friday afternoon. A Hurricane Watch is in effect from Bay St. Louis, Mississippi to Indian Pass, Florida, with a Tropical Storm Watch on either side, and landfall is expected late Friday or early Saturday. A Storm Surge Watch covers the coast from the mouth of the Mississippi River to Yankeetown, with 5 to 7 feet of surge possible from Ocean Springs to Indian Pass, including Mobile Bay, and the deepest water near and east of where the center comes ashore. Know your evacuation zone now, and keep checking back, since NHC says additional watches and warnings could be needed tonight.
