@rehabwitharif: Thomas Test The Thomas Test is a clinical test used to assess hip flexor muscle tightness/contracture, particularly the iliopsoas, rectus femoris, and tensor fasciae latae (TFL). Position: * Patient lies supine near the edge of the treatment table. * Both legs are initially straight. * The patient brings one knee toward the chest and holds it firmly. * The examiner observes the opposite leg. Interpretation: * Normal: The opposite thigh remains flat on the table. * Hip flexor tightness: The opposite thigh rises off the table, indicating a positive Thomas test. Muscle-specific interpretation: * Iliopsoas tightness: Opposite thigh lifts off the table. * Rectus femoris tightness: The opposite knee tends to extend rather than remain flexed. * TFL/IT band tightness: The opposite thigh moves into abduction and/or external rotation. Clinical use: Commonly used in assessment of hip flexion contracture, low-back/hip disorders, and muscle imbalance.#physicaltherapy #rehabilitation #fyp #foryoupage #viral
