Its expiration date does not, by itself, terminate lawful permanent residence. ✅ Renew a standard 10-year card using Form I-90 if it has expired or will expire within six months. ✅ For qualifying I-90 renewals, USCIS receipt notices extend the card’s validity for 36 months from its printed expiration date. ✅ Keep the expired card together with the receipt notice. Read the extension wording carefully. ⚠️ TWO-YEAR CONDITIONAL CARDS FOLLOW DIFFERENT RULES.
