There was life before October 7th, and for the lucky ones there was life after October 7th, even if it didn’t always feel that way for them. Visiting the Nova exhibition in NYC was extraordinarily moving, and the Lost & Found table of discarded shoes was an immediate reminder of the terrible exhibit at Auschwitz with huge piles of shoes, suitcases and other possessions of our brothers and sisters who were killed by the Nazis. Nova has a different, and possibly more powerful immediate impact. It was October 7th 2023 when Hamas murdered 1200+ Jews, took 251 hostages, and within days there was a media and social onslaught against Jewish communities everywhere that continues to grow. Today is seared into our memory. We might philosophise, see the bad or look for the hidden good, but what can we say on a day like this? We can say for those who were killed. Kaddish. @Shady hasan 375:Americans are waking up slowly by surely! October 7 did at least one good thing, it ripped the curtain down and showed the world the truth! No matter what happens from this point forward, Israel-as it was-is finished. It will be remembered as the most hated nation in this generation. Not because of religion, but because of what it chose to do. You cannot starve an entire population of people and expect the world to stay silent. You cannot commit genocide in full view of humanity and escape the judgment of history. You cannot kidnap Humanitarians in international waters and torture them in prisons and not be held accountable on the world stage. Israel has become the embodiment of its own greatest fear. It has become the Nazi’s of the 1940’s Germany. They are hated, Not because they’re jewish, but because they have abandoned all their humanity. I take great offense when people call them animals, because animals feel pain, and empathy, these people do not. Animals can not be put on trial for their crimes, these People CAN and SHOULD! No, they are not animals, they are People who have gone unchecked for far to long and they need to be reminded of their place in society. It is not above anyone!
