This is a great lesson. My wife had not the best parents in to regards of what they mentioned after outings when she was younger. I have to help her to get out of this negative mindset. It's not easy to help her but, I'm going to do everything I can to bring her out of that mindset.

56 yo here. Power chair bound. Got invited to a family gathering by an elder. We all had just sat down ordered our food and on of the party noticed my inviter smiling. Why are you smiling. I’m remembering a mistake he made. (I’ve done things right). I was forced to explain my mistake in detail. They think nothing of it. (I broke a washing machine door) stupid but not worth the consequences of that day.
