It's doing the same thing a different way. 🚗 After 17 years in caregiving, I'm learning that taking care of myself doesn't always mean stepping away from my responsibilities. almost canceled one of our appointments. I was thinking about the driving, the waiting, and everything that comes with getting everyone where they need to be. Then someone said, "I'll come along." And just like that, we made a day of it. We kept our appointments, went to the mall, sat down, and enjoyed lunch together. And guess what? I sat down too. Really sat! Sometimes it means finding a little room for myself right in the middle of them. Today wasn't about burnout. It was about living. Caregivers, when was the last time you turned an ordinary workday into something enjoyable for yourself, too? We still had to drive, wait, and check in. But nobody got left behind at the house, the caregivers included. And I didn't spend the whole day watching the clock. Next time your calendar is full of errands, ask yourself: who else can come along, and where can I sit down along the way?
