This is exactly why I think people should be building wealth while they still can. If AI eventually replaces a huge amount of human labour, we may end up with some form of basic income because there simply won’t be enough traditional jobs. But basic income doesn’t mean equal ownership. The people who already own businesses, property, investments and the AI itself will still own the wealth it creates. So I don’t think the answer is “why work if AI will take our jobs?” I think it’s “how do I make sure I own something before the rules of work completely change?
