When i was younger my mom would take me clothes shopping when she’d randomly get money, and when i would get upset over something she would say to me (mind this woman was very abusive and still is i just haven’t spoken to her in 6 years) she would tell me i was just using her for her money because i was only happy when she was buying me something. Mind you she would force me to go and i also didn’t want her spending anything on me because we didn’t have food in the house. this went on from when i was 4-16yrs old. It’s a weird toxic thing some parents do, don’t let it bring you down.
