I saw one trailer for it and it screamed bad millennial humor

there was marketing for this movie 😭, yall aren't as online as yall claim to be, also this movie is mainstream in the film community so idfk how people "haven't heard" of it and then say they love film

I can't financially spend $48 on just tickets alone for my family of three to see what looks like a decent movie. it looks like an okay movie that I would take my family to go see if I was spending for my family maximum $15 for the tickets

I have two small children who would be the target audience and am in charge of cultivating a collection of children's media and still never heard of this movie. it looks beautiful!

Everyone’s marketing team is doing a terrible job of advertising because they all want it to go straight to streaming where they are upping the prices yet again. Getting so close to starting my own streaming service for family and friends.

I felt the same about the marketing making the characters look annoying. I went to see it regardless because I had a feeling the ads were misleading. Great film sad it’s not getting the recognition it deserves.

I was so excited for this movie from the beginning b/c of the cultural significance & did not get the “fart joke” vibe from the trailers at all. I saw trailers & hype for it months out but didn’t realize it came out b/c once it got close to the release date I didn’t see any ads for it anymore. Putting promo out way too early & dying down the ads close to release is an issue for sure

The fact that her old costars in the Philippines are boycotting this movie because of her old manager that claimed she is a bad person and shouldn’t be supported 😭😭😭 AND MANY FILIPINOS BELIEVED IT

This film is beautiful and I recommend people watch it,but I agree that humour is too obnoxious,it might work with kids idk I'm 26 💀.

The two trailers made it look like some overly toddlerish flashy color keep up the kids retention, and then you go in and are met with the gorgeous opening scene going through their lives as they grow up before finally getting into the fantastical plot. Its a beautiful movie aimed at highschoolers and young college students while preparing children for when they reach that age. Loss of loved ones, growing up, balancing friendships and your future, everything about it. I cried more than once and im not one to cry and movies. The visual and story parallels between mananangal & batiba vs raissa & jo was on point.

For me it's the cost. Going to the movies used to be cheap, now fucking popcorn is incredibly expensive and if I can't have my popcorn and I have to sit in a theater strongly smelling of my favorite treat it's so uncomfortable I basically would rather watch the movie at home. If concessions were a bit cheaper maybe I would be able to afford watching every movie that I want instead of having to pick my monthly "worth it" movie. Unfortunately this month I'm saving up for Whickerman. Also tye fucking premiums. The theater closest to me is now all Dolby Atmos or premium reclining chairs with whine delivered to your seats, so I have to drive 30 min to another cheaper theater and pay parking and gas for that.
