Also best buy & the grocery store has a 200% profit margin without negotiating…. So yeah they dont charge a receipt or bag fee

You claim to have worked at dealer before…. Then you know that’s it’s against discrimination laws to charge one customer a doc fee, and not the next. The moment you charge your very first customer, it becomes mandatory 🤦‍♂️.

don't forget about destination fees - what other product do you buy has you paying for the upstream transport costs on the backend sperately . it's usually rolled into the COGS but the time you purchase it

I never pay doc fee. It’s their job to do that if they want to sell a car. Never!

Here's a question... sales tax... You pay sales tax on the car, is sales tax also applied to doc fees/other dealership fees? If not, then it really can't be "included in the price", it has to be itemized separately. It should still be listed transparently alongside the price...

dealerships charging doc fee is the stupidest thing in the world. so many suckers willingly pay it that it's become "non-negotiable" until you get up and start walking out of the finance office.

i mean realistically the reason is we all why is because its a non negotiable thing. idc what you say if a dealership hid it in the paperwork every big name brand chevy cadillac lexus nissan etc its a non negotiable thing. if it was in the price how would you include that if its something that needs to be there 100% of the time yk

dealers are so dishonest. all stores include cost of business into the cost of the product

Its itemization. The doc fee is listed separately instead of just making the product more expensive. The grocery store is paying its workers more. So yogurt is a dollar more instead of saying “here’s an extra dollar to pay our employees”

Why are car dealerships so shady? Is it illegal to be upfront or something?

I respect your what your doing making money and helping people but I don’t understand why you make this so hard on salespeople and talk to them the way you do when you literally worked at a dealership and know the whole process and a little behind the scenes especially since you worked in fiannce maybe it helps you drive your content which leads to more people to use your service but you make this way harder then what it is and if you got into finance you either were either pretty good at making money in sales or were close with someone in position to put you in that position
