It was built between 1938-1940 by Swiss immigrant brothers Gottfried and Hans Althaus. This was a sister property to a replica across the freeway (before it existed) so the families could see each other. The family originally operated a large ranch in the area with cattle and grew crops. Hans passed away in 1977 and Gottfried in 1998. The 49 acre lot was sold 1977 to Leonard Sterns. It was then bought by an investment company in 2013. There’s rumors that it was a getaway house for some of the Hollywood elite from the Golden Age but they’re unfounded.

Idk the lore but I went inside of it one night with some friends😭 it was empty and covered in graffiti. The basement was too scary to go in
