X-rays show Legg-Calvé-Perthes disease affecting the right femoral head. Thankfully, the femoral head has not fractured yet. An FHO (femoral head ostectomy) is recommended to address the affected hip, relieve pain, and help restore Koby’s mobility. Without treatment, the disease can progress and lead to worsening pain and potential fracture or other complications. Despite what he is going through, Koby is doing his best. ❤️ He is otherwise described as appearing healthy. He is shy in his kennel and tends to keep to himself, but he warms up with treats and is tolerant of being petted. 🥹 Koby will need a rescue, foster, or adopter who can provide prompt orthopedic care, surgery, and the rehabilitation and recovery he will need afterward. He also has a profuse tapeworm infection, which will need treatment. 🙏 Koby is only a puppy.
