Bro, if your gonna stop there, you might as well just pull against the curb. Double parking is still a violation. And while I've never confirmed this because I haven't heard of it enforced this way, it was once explained to me that if your engine is running, it could be written as a moving violation rather than just a parking ticket. Personally, it doesn't make sense to me as there are citations that can be given for violations that occur while moving that aren't moving violations as the action isn't, in and of itself, unsafe, which to me applies here, but sometimes laws are enforced in weird ways. Regardless, get out of the way and just park against the curb.
