She’s so heavily based on Marie Antoinette that Arrlechino HAD to bring up a guillotine. I personally dislike Furina, but I absolutely LOVE the parallels she has with Marie Antoinette.

yeah so many people forget that they didnt know she was human. they didnt know she was the key player in ensuring the prophecy was canceled out. she didnt even know it. so to them, and likely furina herself for a long time, she was incapable of saving them and simply sat on a gilded throne

Furinas one of the more complex characters Hoyo has made along with Xiao, Aventurine, and yes…Dottore. She was based on Marie Antoinette, Jean of Arc, and Lady Justice. I really love her and arlecchinos characters but it’s interesting how Arle went from gray morality and this to them being friends.

Honestly, this was one of the most interesting parts of her character for me 😭 No one knew what Furina was doing. Everyone believed that she was the Archon, because Focalor's plan had it so she couldn't say ANYTHING. So, it really did look like the Fontainians were on their own. They had no other choice but to put Furina on that trial, and the Traveler's whole role was to get her to talk before that could happen 😭 She and Ei are the only two Archons whose people genuinely believed that they weren't doing anything about their nations' crises, and that is SO INTERESTING

I always understood why they didn’t like her. She’s very Marie Antoinette coded. Sheltered and she doesn’t quite understand the gravity of the situation but trying her best so you can’t hate her but there’s always something annoying about the obliviousness. It was like trying to pull teeth to get any info out of her

mind you, this persona is exactly what said people wanted from her 💔 not only was she forced to hide behind a persona for 500 years but she was ALSO betrayed by the only people she could call her friends, while yes everyone would've died, in the end Furina deserves the world for what we all did to her

I HATED Furina at first. I found her annoying and way too prissy almost? I felt better about her after the AQ but her attitude is still too annoying for me 😭 but it makes sense for the mentality of Fontaine at the time
