@two.rabbit.rescue: 🐾 Remember Ramona? In August, Ramona was out of time at Downey Animal Care Center (ID A5784432). She came in as a stray on 6/21 with painful injuries, likely from a car, including a fractured pelvis. She spent 7 and a half weeks recovering in the back of the shelter, where no one got a chance to see her, and then she passed her euthanasia deadline. She's in foster now ✨ and her days look very different. Sunbathing, eating, snoozing, repeat. She's also gone from 9 lbs to 11. She still had one big problem: constant, intense itching. On 9/26 her fosters took her to the vet, where she started steroids and got a stronger chewable flea med to rule out a resistant flea strain. She also got her FVRCP booster and rabies shot. Her fosters say the steroids have given her a lot of relief, and she's much more relaxed without all that itching. 💜 Ramona isn't available for adoption yet. Her vet is still working out what's behind her skin issues, and we want answers before she moves on to her furever home. We'll share updates as we get them. Like, comment, or share to help more people see her story. It boosts this post's reach and helps the next Ramona sitting in the back of a shelter. 💕 #CatRescue #ShelterCats #AdoptDontShop #FosterCats #LosAngelesCats

theforbesfelines :
I was wondering about her recently! so glad she's doing better! (Also, sometimes, after prolonged exposure to fleas cats needed medicated shampoo for awhile, followed by a moisturizing protocol! I'm sure the vet team has considered that but throwing it out there since I worked in vetmed and now see it often as a groomer.)
