Yes!! Our pilot said it was because they didn’t have clearance to land, so they had to climb and come back around. It was really scary though

San Francisco's Fleet Week is the only air show in the United States featuring a fully choreographed commercial airliner demonstration. FYI- this week is Fleet Week

For those new to San Francisco, the airport is 20 minutes outside of the city. This is the San Francisco waterfront where Alcatraz (seen in clip) is and where Fleet Week will be. Fleet Week is an annual air show and does include one commercial airliner in the show

I was on a flight from Hawaii to San Francisco. They aborted the landing three times we touched out and then take back off. Finally, the fourth time we landed. It was terrifying.

Live here. If the Pilot is early for SFO they will do a fly over GG & Bay. It’s cool. Was flying back from TX & pilot went on speaker & announced it was incredible.

I was in a plane who had to loop around again before we got clearance to land at sfo. It was kinda fun, and we flew over halfmoon bay before we came back again. According to our pilot, it was out of “an abundance of caution”.

I haven't flown into San Francisco since the 80s, and I'll have to pull up Google maps to confirm, but isn't the airport on the other side of the bridge?
