In response to my last video, I’ve realized the root of all my problems has been my constant let down from my parents. When I was younger my mom had given me the message that being emotional or just being myself was cringe and weird. She also has bipolar and often snapped at little things and such. I’m sure I could’ve accustomed to it if I hadn’t seen my peers relationship with their mothers. They got physical affection and sweetly talked to. I would watch and think that’s weird, but deep down I would long for my mom to be a nice mom to me. I wanted to be tucked into bed, kissed on the forehead, tell eachother I love you, given hugs, feeling like I can talk about everything and anything without it exploding into a scolding, say she’s proud of me. Sure unlike my father she was my provider and kept a roof over my head, but there was always this emotional bridge between us. My father he was hardly in my life. He took me for weekends a couple of times when I was 3-6 and then just stopped. He’s made it clear time and time again that I am no importance to him. He was either in jail, another country, and now he’s been in another state and hasn’t made much of an effort to see me up until now. When I asked why he didn’t visit often when I was younger he said it was hard living in America because of his race (black). But I didn’t understand, I’m part black too and he left me to be black in America all on my own. I’ve had to learn to moisturize, learn how to do and love my curly hair in an oppressive environment, deal with racism, etc. with no guidance but my own. Both my parents had taught me is that If I can’t get myself nobody has got me. I have severe suppression and avoidant issues and I have no real concept on how to love anyone romantically. Now both of parents want to put an effort into raising me but I can’t help but feel so angry. It’s too late now I already resent them both. They can’t fix what has been done. So I will forever feel this emptiness. #fyp #xyzbca #relatable #parentallove sorry for any mistakes or un informative statements I can’t help but cry thinking of it
