@jerseytalks_: Veterans: if someone calls asking for your DD-214, hang up. 📵 Paterson's deputy mayor for veteran affairs used Tuesday's city council meeting to warn about scams targeting veterans. Don't give out information over the phone, don't click anything in those emails, and be wary of names like "Veterans Insurance Company." In his words, the real thing is a letter from the VA with your appointment on it. When in doubt, hang up and contact the VA directly through VA.gov. Know a veteran who should see this? Send it their way. Video: City of Paterson NJ / YouTube. #Veterans #ScamAlert #Paterson #PatersonNJ #NewJersey #JerseyTalks
