@anastasiiaerof: in 1904, this medieval musical manuscript was rediscovered at the women's monastery of Las Huelgas in Burgos, Spain - nearly 600 years after it was created. copied around 1300-1325, it had been preserved at the monastery for centuries and contains nearly 190 pieces of medieval music. known today as the Codex Las Huelgas, it is one of the most important surviving collections of medieval polyphony - and one of the rare medieval music manuscripts preserved in its original monastic setting ✨ #earlymusic #medievalmusic #medieval #sacredmusic #singer
