🟢 BITE RATING: GOOD DAY Beach Bums, Monday is shaping up to be another good day to wet a line along the Coastal Bend ! The New Moon may be behind us, but the tides are still moving plenty of water, and that means opportunities to find hungry fish ! 🌒 THE MOON FACTOR Monday brings a Waxing Crescent Moon, just two days after the New Moon. Lunar influence remains favorable for fishing, with predicted feeding activity during the morning and afternoon. 🌊 STRONG TIDAL MOVEMENT Monday's tidal coefficient is 85, which is considered HIGH. That means substantial tidal movement is still expected around Port Aransas, Packery Channel and the surrounding coastal waters. ⚆ Low Tide: 10:04 AM — 0.6 ft ⚆ High Tide: 6:57 PM — 2.7 ft That incoming afternoon tide could be the ticket ! Moving water helps carry baitfish and shrimp into feeding areas, giving Redfish, Speckled Trout and Flounder an opportunity to ambush an easy meal. 🐟 WHAT SHOULD BE BITING ? 🔴 REDFISH — Look for moving water around Packery Channel, Port Aransas Jetties and shoreline drains. The fall Redfish run makes these areas worth checking. 🟢 SPECKLED TROUT — Work the surf guts early and concentrate on grass edges, potholes and current breaks in the bays. 🟡 POMPANO — Target the second and third guts along Padre Island with fresh shrimp and FishBites when surf conditions allow. ⚫ BLACK DRUM — Fish deeper cuts, channel edges and the first two surf guts using fresh shrimp or cut crab. 🎣 BEACH BUM'S GAME PLAN Get out early for the morning bite, but don't overlook the afternoon ! The rising tide could provide another feeding opportunity, especially wherever moving water pushes bait against rocks, sandbars and channel edges. Remember, the moon and tides can help predict feeding opportunities, but wind, water clarity, surf conditions and bait location still determine how productive the fishing will be. BOTTOM LINE: Monday has the ingredients for a GOOD fishing day. Find the bait, find the moving water, and you just might find yourself bending a rod instead of telling another story about the one that got away !
