@oliviaandcobakery: I just wanted to share a little bit about myself and how I came to start this long journey of being a home baker. 💗 I was around 7-8 months pregnant, working as a caregiver, when I realized how much I loved baking. I would always make a little sweet treat for my lady that I took care of. It filled my heart with joy seeing her smile as she took a bite of the sweets I had made for her. That’s when I realized, I wasn’t just addicted to baking, but to the feeling of sharing something I had had made with my own hands, something I had put all of my heart into making, and seeing the smiles it would bring. A couple months after that, we welcomed our baby girl, Olivia. She is the love of our lives and has made life much brighter. The first couple months were ROUGH. Long story short, we were sleep deprived and had no time for ourselves. Fast forward to now, she is almost turning 1 and we’re able to have more time for hobbies and that was when I rediscovered my love for baking. I started making various cookies, running tons of experiments to get the exact texture, flavor and appeal I wanted. I spent my breaks looking up what certain ingredients does to a cookie, learned baker’s ratio and eventually became more and more accurate. And tray after tray of cookies, I FINALLY found my own ideal cookie recipe. 🥹 I am not perfect and will never be, but I will always keep working on making my baked goods as close to perfection as can be. There is ALWAYS room for improvement. We are moving to Washington this upcoming January and I am hoping that I can officially launch my business there and be able to share flavors from my home country, the Philippines. 🌴 I know the process will take weeks, maybe even months before I can get started but this is truly what I want to do in life. I haven’t felt this much creativity and inspiration since I was a kid. It feels like I’m rediscovering a part of myself I forgot was there.
