@bbcnews: The mother of Christa Pike's victim, Colleen Slemmer, said the state of Tennessee had failed her and owes her an apology after the failed execution attempts. #ChristaPike #ColleenSlemmer #Tennessee #USNews #BBCNews

maria Austin :

Truly awful situation for the victim's mother to endure.

Aria :

I can smell an upcoming Netflix documentary here.

Humble lion 🦁🦁🦁 :

Justice should not only be about punishment; it should also be about understanding, compassion, rehabilitation, and humanity. If her mental health played a role in her actions, that deserves to be carefully considered. We cannot bring back the life that was lost, but we can choose how we respond—with compassion rather than hatred, and with justice tempered by mercy. I sincerely appeal to the authorities, the judiciary, and everyone involved: please look beyond the crime and see the human being. Please consider her mental health, her suffering, and the possibility of rehabilitation. Let mercy have a voice alongside justice. May this appeal reach those with the power to reconsider her situation and ensure that justice is served with humanity and compassion.

I’m confused do they want her dead or what

cmalone7 :

#JUSTICE FOR COLLEEN

Engineer Kamama :

So if the lady is killed, the mother of Coleen would have gained justice for her dead daughter ? How???

Praew Asian :

Colleen Slemmer deserves answers. The state really failed her and her daughter. 💔

Dene Sii :

God said forgiveness..

LR :

Yes but pure evil is not gonna bring back her daughter

zk1ttyu :

Literal torture

jahmaika_luv :

It's not about feelings, it's about justice ⚖️

braking news :

They did not want to kill her from the beginning.

🌙 :

So she dead or what

liesbethenvy :

Everyone’s journey and circumstances are different, and compassion matters. Justice can acknowledge the harm that was done while still recognizing the humanity of the person involved.

IC3 :

The execution failed. Now comes the uncomfortable question: do they try again, change the method, or rethink the sentence? Apparently, even the machinery of death comes with complications.

life.with.lawrence :

she have to go

Piergy :

🔻MarmotEatingCracker99🔻 :

Another good reason to oppose Capital punishment: Apparently the state can botch the attempt and end up having to pay millions in damages... (on top of all the other issues with it)

Ethan Slater🤎my fantasy🤎man :

Colleen always and forever

ron_tiktok_2021 :

She must've woke up and thought she was in hell 🥺

Deborah Anderson969 :

no mercy

Dato :

that's called vengeance -primitive and medieval rules

liesbethenvy :

That really does raise difficult questions. When an execution goes wrong, the legal, ethical, and human consequences become much more complicated than simply deciding what happens next.
