The more you know, the more you realize you do not know. At first, knowledge seems like a light. You learn something, and a piece of darkness disappears. A question receives an answer. A mystery becomes understandable. The world appears to become smaller because more of it has been revealed. But then something strange happens. The further you walk into knowledge, the larger the unknown becomes. One answer creates five more questions. One discovery reveals an entire field of things you never knew existed. What once seemed simple becomes complicated, and what once seemed certain becomes something that demands examination. Perhaps ignorance feels so comfortable because it has boundaries we cannot see. A person who knows very little may believe the world is simple because they have not yet encountered its complexity. But the person who studies deeply begins to encounter contradictions, exceptions, uncertainty, and questions that have no immediate answer. The beginning of wisdom may therefore be the moment when certainty starts to disappear. Socrates is often remembered for the idea that recognizing one's own ignorance is a form of wisdom. There is something profound about that. To say “I do not know” is not necessarily an admission of weakness. Sometimes it is an admission that you respect the question too much to give it an answer you have not earned. Because knowledge is not merely the collection of answers. It is the ability to recognize which questions are worth asking. The universe existed long before humanity had words for it. Stars formed before anyone understood what a star was. The laws governing matter existed before anyone could describe them. Entire worlds of mathematics, biology, philosophy, and physics waited to be discovered while humanity remained unaware that there was anything to discover. And even now, after centuries of accumulated knowledge, we still stand before questions so enormous that our understanding feels almost microscopic. What is consciousness? Why does anything exist at all? Is the universe infinite? Are there forms of life beyond our own? Why does subjective experience exist? What lies beyond what we are capable of observing? We have answers to countless questions. Yet the existence of those answers has only revealed how many questions remain. Perhaps that is why true intelligence is rarely accompanied by absolute certainty. The more deeply someone explores reality, the more carefully they speak about what they believe to be true. There is a humility that comes from realizing that your understanding of the universe is only a tiny fragment of the universe itself. And perhaps that is not discouraging. Perhaps it is beautiful. Because if there is still more to understand, then curiosity has no final destination. The horizon moves every time we approach it. The more we learn, the larger the unknown becomes. And perhaps wisdom is not knowing everything. Perhaps wisdom is becoming comfortable with the fact that we never will #gacha #fyp
