day in the life of a marketing manager in la 🤍 long time no see vlog!! honestly feels good to be posting again. life has been nonstop lately. i’ve been in sf almost 4 times this month alone, which my body definitely did not sign up for lol. grateful for the opportunities, but also v tired. i went home for thanksgiving and reconnected with family i haven’t seen in a while. growing up in an asian immigrant household has layers: love, resentment, misunderstandings, and moments where i suddenly feel 13 again. i don’t want to be irritable, but sometimes i am. sometimes it’s like my body remembers things before my brain does. i’ve tried unpacking it on my own but it’s complicated. lol iykyk but recently, someone in my life helped me see things differently. whenever i’d talk about my family, he’d say things like “she’s so sweet” or “she’s just a sweetie,” and it made me pause. like huh. am i holding onto versions of people that aren’t true anymore? maybe i’m not the person i was when those old hurts happened. maybe i don’t have to keep carrying that. since then, things with my family feel softer. i get random texts from cousins i never used to talk to. calls with my mom feel more warm than heavy. i still get triggered (i think that’s just human) but reminding myself that this is their first time being parents takes the edge off. a lot of my irritation dissolves when i zoom out. i guess what i’m learning is: yes, you can grow through self-reflection, journaling, unpacking trauma, all of that but sometimes the right person in your life quietly reframes everything. and that’s why it matters who you let into your world — the people who help you see things with more grace and less defensiveness. subjectively, my life isn’t “hard” right now. it’s actually the life i used to manifest for myself. it’s challenging because i chose challenges that grow me. i’m choosing my hard — but not in a way that breaks me. my hard motivates me, it keeps me determined. i was interviewing a candidate today and they asked how i decided to join this company. i told them the truth: people don’t make the “right” decision. they make a decision, and then they spend every day proving to themselves why it was the right one. that’s me right now: choosing this path, choosing this team, choosing to believe i’m exactly where i need to be. hope this brain dump wasn’t too long lol. see u in the next vlog <3 E 🌝 #asmr #Vlog #marketingmanager #workvlog #Tech
