same thing, I did to my first landlord when I enter Onitsha... is a selfcon very un kept house, other are charging 160k for self at college road... he kept his own 100k... after looking at the house I told my friends I wanted to rent it .. they laughed at me .. the landlord said he can only fix things for me if I pay for two years.... I said no problem.... paid for 5years instead of 2 years the man didn't fix anything things thats when I told him we needed an agreement for me to fix it myself.... after months... I set the house right.... spending extra money ... the landlord became jealous after 2years he increased the rent say I should pay extra 80k for each year or I pack out... I laughed because he didn't even read the landlord tent agreement I prepared.... because I told him for me to pay 2 years and still fix my apartment we need to have a written agreement.... so when he forced his self on the case of chasing me out to rent the house... court intervene and told him according to the agreement I still have 3years more after my 5years expires or he pays me my complete initial payment of 500k with the cost of me getting a new place both the agent and transporting of my property... and help in securing same standards I kept his house.... na so my landlord come house the call me my son... I hope you won't mind what the court said.... that we can live in peace and after my rent expires hope I will still pay him the agreed 100k instead of staying free for that 3years...
